1904 in Springfield, Mass,
Theodor Geisel did come to pass.
He went to Dartmouth, Oxford too,
He had a wife, eventually two.
He wrote some ads, and drew cartoons,
Even a musical with his own tunes.
One book, two books, three books more,
By the time he’s done there are 54.
The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham,
We wish he’d write more friends like Sam
Neither at his desk nor in his bed,
He won’t be writing cause he’s dead.
